Delmenhorster Schwimm-Verein von 1905 e.V.Introducing the clubThe DSV 05 ( Delmenhorster Schwimm-Verein, established in 1905 ) is one of the biggest regional swimming clubs counting more than 900 members. It is a large and progressive club involving six training and development squads (with around 200 members), a thriving Masters squad and a large teaching programme. All training and teaching takes place at one venue, the Delfina, a swimming pool in Delmenhorst with 6 lanes of 25 metres. With it's location near a large park, it also offers attractive tracks for running. Delmenhorst is a city of 80 000 people in the North of Germany near Bremen. In the last 15 years, under successive chief coaches, the club has achieved many successes and has established a promising spirit of teaching and supporting people of all ages. It provides both basic and competitive training for all levels of ability and achievement allowing swimmers to derive benefit and enjoyment from swimming. There is a place for everyone within the squad structure of the club.
Spirit of openness - "Visit us!"Since swimming is a particularly demanding sport and everyone needs to be disciplined concerning the training, we have always tried to offer activities to all our swimmers besides the training in order to motivate them and establish a team spirit. By organizing training camps abroad ( Cyprus, Crete, Malta, Czech Republic ) as well as international competitions and exchange programmes, the club also tries to widen members' horizon and help them to discover unknown aspects of life and sports elsewhere. The DSV 05 welcomes any club to get into contact, visit Delmenhorst and share experiences, fun and insights during the visit or even the participation in a competition. We always enjoy welcoming old friends and new guests alike. Don't hesitate to contact us as you will always find people who will be happy meeting you.
